The start of a new year often means New Year’s resolutions. For more and more people, that resolution centers around the idea of becoming financially independent. We love selling printables on Etsy and taking printables courses around here.

Financial independence comes in many forms. Maybe you’re looking to get out from underneath that credit card debt. Perhaps you’re searching for a way to get out of the job you hate. Maybe you’re just looking to help secure your financial future.

Whatever’s driving you, a side hustle may be what you’re driving towards. If you’re looking for a side hustle to start, may we suggest printables?

What Is A Printable?

Let’s start with the basics. What is a printable?

It is something that the customer can download and print at home from their computer.

Printables can also be party games for bachelorette parties, baby showers, and birthday parties. They can be invitations, thank you cards, or save the date cards. Printables can be school worksheets, coloring pages, or activity sheets for kids.

In other words, there are plenty of options out there.

Why Are Printables A Good Side Hustle?

So, what makes selling printables a good side hustle.

For one thing, there’s an easy learning curve. Once you learn how to create a printable and upload it onto a site like Etsy, you can repeat the process over and over again.

The other benefit of printables is that you don’t have to worry about sourcing a product, buying it, shipping it, and then worrying about where you’re going to store the inventory until it sells…that is if it sells.

Plus, you don’t have to spend a huge amount of cash before you start. The only investment you have to make before you start selling printables is the investment of your time.

However, the most important feature of printables is that they can become a form of passive income. Once you’ve uploaded your printables to a marketplace, there’s little else you have to do. You may need to monitor your sales, respond to customer questions and tweak your marketing plan occasionally, but it’s not as labor-intensive on the backend as some other side hustles can be.

Can You Make Money Off Of Printables?

The bonus is printables can be profitable.

Millennial Boss founder Julie has made thousands of dollars selling printables on Etsy through her store, The Swag Elephant.

She continues to grow her profits because she can keep the current inventory and expand with no extra cost to her except for her time investment.

How Do I Create A Printable?

Before you start selling printables, you need to have printables to sell. That means you need to create them.

Below are the best printables courses currently on the internet.

If you’re serious about making printables your go to side hustle, I suggest that you enroll in one of these courses before you get started.

In most cases, the courses will walk you through everything from creating a printable to listing it online to marketing your printables so they sell.

Best Printable Courses

1. E-Printables Side Hustle Course

When searching for the top printable courses on the internet, I found several sites that say the E-Printables Side Hustle Course from Gold City Ventures is the best one out there.

The writers at Debt Free Happens used selling printables to help pay off $107,000 in debt in 33 months. They did an entire evaluation of the course, which you can find here at Etsy Printables Course Review. Debt Free Happens answers the question, is this course legit with, “In short, it is totally legit, and I have learned a lot from some of the unique bonus features you will only find in this course.”

Sasha from Your Frugal Friend has made thousands selling printables on Etsy and has over 10,000 sales in her shop since taking the E-Printables course. Check out Sasha’s review of Gold City Ventures here. Sasha was able to quit her job to become a full time entrepreneur after starting the course.

Michelle at Making Sense of Cents has gathered student reviews of the course at the bottom of this article Review of Gold City Ventures E-Printables Course. Says Kristy, one of the Gold City Ventures students, “That first sale felt amazing! Someone liked my design enough to spend their hard earned money on it. They wanted my design to be part of their special day. After that I was hooked!”

While The Multitasking Mom says it was how quickly her shop was up and running that sold her.

“You could seriously have 12 listings created in a couple of hours just by following along with the pre-made templates and adding your own design elements and style!” writes The Multitasking Mom.

The Money Hacking Mama says she’s a believer as well. She writes, “If you would’ve told me what my life would look like now a year ago, I would have laughed in your face. Would I recommend this course? Absolutely! Where else can you invest $421 and get a 323X+ return?”

Note: The course is currently offered for $197 at this time when you include the $50 discount.

Rachel over at the Money Hacking Mama was recently featured by Grow + CNBC for making over $12,500 in a month selling printables with this side hustle. She even made over $150,000 on Etsy selling printables.

That is amazing success and provides major inspiration to current Gold City Ventures students.

VIP E-Printables Course Includes
The E-Printables course includes video tutorials, templates, and more.

In other words, don’t take my word for it. Take everyone else’s words as well.

The E-Printables Side Hustle Course comes with video tutorials, templates, and customer support if anything goes wrong.

Julie, owner of this Millennial Boss blog, is founder of this course and has also been featured in the media about making $1,000 per month selling printables on Etsy.

This is the best-selling course for making printables on Etsy.

Check out the Gold City Ventures course here.

The course has thousands of happy students and even more social proof on their student success stories page which you can find here.

2. Printables By Number

Created by blogger Suzi Whitford, the Printables by Number course focuses on teaching you to create printables with PowerPoint and Canva. Suzi also talks about the best printables to create and includes several templates in her course to get you started.

Suzi is no stranger to creating courses. She created a Blog by Numbers course to help out new bloggers.

Neena at Almost Practical has used Suzi’s courses before, and she’s a fan of the Printables by Number course.

“Printables by Number is a great way to jump into the world of creating printables for your blog. As a blogger, you can use a printable as a free lead magnet or create them as products to sell. But the printable itself has to be both helpful and attractive – if you want people to download or buy it. This course can show you how to make that happen,” writes Neena.

3. Passive Income – How To Make Printables To Sell On Etsy

There are several “How to Make Printables” courses on Udemy, but the Passive Income – How to Make Printables to Sell on Etsy course is the top-ranked of them all.

The course offers details on how to create downloadable art designs that you can sell on Etsy. It includes videos and articles that teach you how to use free tools to create your artwork and how to size the artwork for high-quality print options.

The reason it’s lower on my list is that it only focuses on digital art printables and no other printable categories like worksheets, stickers, calendars, or party games.

4. Printable Business Mastery

This is another well-ranked printable course on Udemy, and it’s had a lot of students over the years. The reason it’s not ranked higher is that it doesn’t include the templates that the higher-ranked courses include.

Printable Business Mastery covers how to create your shop and improve the tags on your listings, so you optimize your traffic, but it’s not as all-inclusive course as the E-Printables Side Hustle Course.

5. Etsy Mastery Course

I like Nancy Badillo’s Etsy Mastery Course too. The course includes how to create my printables and make sure they perform with Etsy SEO. Nancy also offers worksheets, resources, and occasional freebies.

Nancy often has sales.

6. Easy Learning Printables

The learning printables market shows a lot of potential, especially in this time of COVID, which is why the Easy Learning Printables course is so useful. Through the course, Amy Harrop shows you how to “identify profitable learning printable topics and understand what consumers want,” as well as how to sell them on sites like Etsy.

If you’re looking for a course that focuses on learning printables, then this is probably your best bet.

7. How To Start, Grow And Market An Etsy Printables Shop

In How To Start, Grow And Market An Etsy Printables Shop, Stephanie Leanne teaches you how to create a printable without having graphic designer experience and then market the items on Pinterest. While the basics are included in this Udemy course, what’s missing is a key component, SEO.

Pinterest is a great marketing tool, but your best marketing tool is proper SEO within your Etsy listings. Other courses tackle that SEO and therefore have a better chance of yielding sales results in the long run.

8. Etsy 101: How To Sell Your Printable Quotes Online With Etsy

The Etsy 101: How To Sell Your Printable Quotes Online With Etsy course may have ranked higher on my list, except that it’s so incredibly niche. The entire course teaches you how to create printable quotes and then list them on Etsy.

That’s it.
